Church of ST. Donatus, Zadar, Croatia

A stunning sight as you walk around center of beautiful Zadar.   Its name refers to Donatus of Zadar, who began construction on this church in the 9th century and ended it on the northeastern part of the Roman forum. Church of St. Donatus is the largest Pre-romanesque building in Croatia. Originally named the church of the Holy Trinity in the 15th century it was renamed the Church of St. Donatus. Definitely a sight to see, inside and outside. I just love it.

  1. The best thing you did is not taking any Photography class. The pictures look really good to me. I am Also experimenting these days 🙂

    1. Thank you so much!! I’m just trying to take a picture the best way it looks to me. I probably have so much to learn but I rather experiment as you say 😀

  2. Thank you for enjoying my Post “Rails to Trails”. I just love to snoop around in Historical places just to learn and see what’s there from long ago. I’d like to see that church, but since that’s not possible I’ll have to be there thru a Image. Don’t worry about your photo’s. They look just fine to me. As you can see in my Blog, there are so many Historical places around my area over here I never get tired of looking. I shoot a Pentax K10D DSLR, a Nikon D7000 DSLR, and a Nikon P600 DSLR. All with various Lens’s. I always say “Just get out there” and keep trying. It’s the only way you’ll learn. Just like me. Be Well over there ~ Les

    1. you are welcome! You are right, taking photos is how you learn. I just had to take few pics of Zadar because the history there is amazing. I hope you will like my other pics. 🙂

      1. yes! Absolutely! It’s a full functioning church. You can also reserve it for a wedding. It’s a long list but you can do it.

      2. Oh yes, even here it’s an expensive trip! I’m just sad I didn’t had the time to go in to show you. But next time maybe. It has open and close hours because of safety. 😀

  3. Thank you for liking my post about Shanghai! I was really surprised to see your post about this church; I visited Zadar several years ago and had forgotten about this place. Thank you for the reminder! I do however recall the sea organ. The sounds it makes are hauntingly beautiful.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m glad I refreshed your memories. 🙂 You probably forgot because there is so much to see or you were going fast through the city. Glad you saw it now 😀
